This is a fan port of Silent Hill Play Novel to the PSP, based on:
- The original version released on Game Boy Advance, it was an adaptation of the first Silent Hill game in the form of an interactive graphic novel and was never released outside Japan. It was translated by Toby Normoyle.
- A flash game was released for PC using some of the translated with a few changes in it.
Installation
This port was made with LuaDev so any custom firmware that is able to run LuaDev it should work.
Unzip the files and move the folder "SHPNP Beta ver0.20" in the path /PSP/GAME/.
User guide
Menu options:
- Arrange (WIP) - With new puzzle, graphics and some new scripts (based on silent hill Novell Book).
- SH DX - Based on the mobile version of the first Silent Hill, only released in Japan, it included fighting secuences with different enemies and 4 chapters. This option is only available now as a demo of how the game looks but will be transformed in a playable game.
- PC Version - Based on the PC port made in Flash, modified from the GBA version, and it included the full spring scenario for Andy. So basically is a port of a port.
- Credits - Basic credits option showing some love for the ones who helped in some way to create this game.
- About (WIP) - About will include specific details of the original games , like dates, curiosities and etc , just for you to check some time.
Controls
D-Pad - Select menu option, Select the character
Cross - Select
Circle - Back (when its available for example the pause menu)
Square - Debug view (allows to view the current option and the gamestate)
L - Scale Image to 480x272 (only works in game or in the character selector area as well as the digital trading cards)
R - Unscale or scale back Image from 480x272 to 317x272

- Code optimization.
- Added pages to harry´s scenario(now you can see the play novel till the coffe store part).
- Added cybil´s scenario(only a few pages).
- New graphics and selection screen(adding the "about" and "SHDX" options).
- You are now able to see an example of what SHDX was( a java mobile game only released in japan).

- Selector icon image (the moth) customized in photoshop by me as it belongs to the moth on the cover box of the game.
- PC Silent Hill play novel port , you can play a part of harry scenario and the andy scenario(with a few bugs).
- This version it doesnt have the Toby Normoyle's translation.
