Rukavychka is a short puzzle game developed for the United with Ukraine Game Jam 2022.

The game draws inspiration from the Ukrainian legend of Rukavychka (glove), in which an old man loses a glove that becomes a home for many forest animals of all sizes, from a little mouse to a huge bear. Although the old man in the original story takes back the glove, the game imagines a world where the animals can live safely in the magical home.

In the game, the animals are lost, and we have to lead them to it by a fox from the Ukrainian story, and Wawel Dragon from Polish legends, to unify the nations by social cooperation, and unfold/bring safe future for everyone (including forest beings that also need peace to exist).

The first level of the game involves guiding a little mouse to the magical Rukavychka. The designs were inspired by traditional floral patterns for the backgrounds, created using watercolors and ink.

It also incorporates the colors from the Ukrainian flag(yellow and blue shades, with a bit of green for the leaves), as well as the significant Ukrainian flowers like sunflowers and Vinca species.

User guide

The objective of the game is to find the mouse (with dragon) and the door to Rukavychka (with fox) and then guide the mouse to the door.

The mouse can only walk on plants within the fox or the dragon and will stop in front of gaps.

Although the dragon and the fox are in two different worlds, the game aims to unite everyone in the end.
