PSP Gnu Chess is a port of GNU Chess, a Chess game that runs on multiple systems such as UNIX, windows and MacOS.
Orginally written in 1986 by Stuart Cracraft, this is a port on PSP with added UI made by Ludovic Jacomme (aka Zx-81), based on the version 5.7 of GNU-Chess.
Installation
Unzip the ZIP file, and copy the folder pspgchess to ms0:/PSP/GAME/.
User guide
It follows the standard game rules.
The homebrew incorporates 2 different virtual keyboards which you can use to specify game filename.
- Danzeff On-Screen Keyboard (by Danzel and Jeff Chen)
- Customizable IR Keyboard (from the file pspirkeyb.ini).
Controls
Chess menu:
Start - Open/close the OSK (On-Screen Keyboard)
In game:
Cross - Valid
Square - Undo
Analog/Cursor - Move on the board
Select - Menu
On-Screen Keyboard:
Analog - Choose one of the 9 squares
Triangle/Square/Cross/Circle - Choose one of the 4 letters of the highlighted square
IR Keyboard:
D-Pad - Cursor
Start - Ctrl-W, Tab
Select - Ctrl-Q, Escape
Triangle - Ctrl-E
Cross - Ctrl-X
Square - Ctrl-S
Circle - Ctrl-F
L - Ctrl-Z
R - Ctrl-C
Clear - Ctrl-L
Cross - Enter
