Comments are stored in the comment files and include system data as well. Comments are limited to 32 characters or 63 bytes.

The description of each file is as follows:

  • NicoOthe.t00 - Contains system-generated comments. Do not alter the line positions; changing the text is allowed.
  • NicoOthe.t01 - Comments for the early game phase supporting Player 1 (black).

  • NicoOthe.t07 - Random comments appearing throughout the game, inspired by comments from Nico Nico Douga.
  • NicoOthe.t99 - Characters used by the system for display. You can modify the title if desired. English text is also supported, but only SJIS fonts are used, so characters other than Japanese and English may not display.

Currently, comments within .txx appear randomly.

Stone graphics

Stone graphics are provided in the ishidata.bmp file. The BMP image size should be 17×34 pixels, with each stone being 17×17 pixels, arranged in two rows.

The BMP file can be 24-bit color or 8-bit color (256 colors), but only up to 32 colors are supported. Colors beyond 32 will be ignored, and black (RGB=0,0,0) is recognized as a transparent color.

You can create and experiment with different 17×17 stone designs.

User guide

The outcome is determined by the number of stones each player has. The player with the most stones wins. You flip the opponent's stones to your color by surrounding them with your own stones. This is similar to standard Reversi, but the rules for placing stones differ.

In this game, stones can only be placed in squares that are completely surrounded by lines. Players take turn drawing 'lines' on the board to create these squares, so you must be strategic to avoid giving your opponent a chance to create squares.

Also the player who places a stone can immediately draw another line, which can be used to capture a large number of stones if used effectively.

Controls

Operate with Stylus.
