This mod increases the difficulty of AI racers in single-player races, making Mario Kart 8 Deluxe more fun when competing against computer-controlled opponents.
In the vanilla game, AI racers are programmed to maintain specific formations, which dictate their race placements. To adhere to these formations, their speed is often reduced by half, resulting in a less competitive experience for players seeking a greater challenge.
The mod increases AI difficulty by boosting their overall speed and lowering formations span, guaranteeing they won't slow down as often, creating a more intense race experience.
Installation
The mod is available in three different versions:
- Original Version:
- Increases AI speed by 15%.
- Removes most slowdowns but still reduces speed slightly to respect formations.
- Easier Version:
- Increases AI speed by 10%.
- AI slows down if you fall behind, making it easier to catch up.
- Extreme Version:
- Increases AI speed by 30%.
- No slowdowns at all.
- Lower chances of securing 1st place.
Install Instructions (Ryujinx/Yuzu):
- Move the "HarderAI" folder to the game's mods directory.
For the best experience, use this mod while playing in 150cc/200cc, with Hard COM, and in frantic items mode. It can also be used in local multiplayer if you are the host.
