Installation
Requirements
Requires a copy of the game in order to work, you can purchase the game on Steam or GOG.com (only Windows version is supported).
First, you might want to install the .VPK using VitaShell. Don't try to launch the game, because it will crash without the necessary files.
You will also need to install the following plugins:
- [IoPlus_Vita|ioplus.skprx]]
- iostaging.skprx
- Thread Optimizer (Optional, requires configuration, and can have negative impact if not correctly done.)
- Plugin to apply full CPU Overclock (500Mhz).
Steam version
- Go to the Release page and download the VPK file and VitaPatchSteam.zip.
- (PSP) Install the VPK file with VitaShell; (PC) Extract the zip file.
- Put the game's folder(../steamapps/common/Hollow Knight) inside the HollowKnightVitaPatchSteam folder.
- Launch APPLYPATCH.bat and wait (may take 15-25 minutes depending on the system).
- Let it finish and there should be a .ZIP file named HollowKnightVITA.zip.
- Copy the contents within the .ZIP file (Zip file should be around 380–450MB before unpacking) over to ux0:app/HKVT12222/.
- Click on "Replace the files in destination" when it asks you to.
GOG version
- Go to the Release page and download the VPK file and VitaPatchGog.zip.
- (PSP) Install the VPK file with VitaShell; (PC) Extract the zip file.
- Put the game's folder(../GOG/Hollow Knight/Hollow Knight_Data) inside the HollowKnightVitaPatchGOG folder.
Transferring Save Files
If you are updating from an older version of the game, your save files need to be moved to a new directory. Follow these steps:
- Navigate to ux0:data and identify all files starting with user....
- Copy these files and transfer them to the new save directory (ux0:data/HollowKnight).
- Ensure all save files are properly placed in the HollowKnight folder.
Troubleshooting
- Ensure that your PS Vita is properly overclocked.
- Verify that you have the correct game version (Steam or GOG) and have followed the steps for your version.
- If ux0:app does not appear in File Explorer, make sure you have visibility of hidden directories enabled.
