Cosmic Invaders is a DS homebrew shooting game where you control a spaceship in attempt to shoot down the aliens.
It was presented in the NEO Spring Coding Compo 2006 and ranked 3rd.
User guide
The goal to shoot down the aliens while trying to survive and complete the level.
The level changes when you reach a certain score and there is a boss at the end of each level.
Powerup
If you shoot the enemies before they reach the bottom of the screen or collide into you, it will fill up the blue energy bar in the bottom right corner.
When the energy bar is filled a powerup will appear. There are three types of powerups that can be changed by shooting the powerup.
- Health - Fill your health up.
- Weapon - Upgrade to a spreader weapon (limited time). The purple energy bar at the bottom right corner shows how long it will last.
- Bomb - Give you another bomb. Your bombs are displayed at the bottom left corner.
Controls
Can be played with keypad or Stylus.
D-Pad or Stylus - Move the ship, Select from the menu
A/L/R - Shoot
B or Tap the bottom left corner - Use Bomb (destroys all enemies on screen)
X - Exit level (while game paused)
Start - Pause, Select OK to ship
