blackSPEED is a homebrew written in C++ that measures the raw speed of the Memory Stick Pro Duo in your PSP. It is filesystem independent, so it doesnt matter how fragmented your stick is. It is just about the theoretical maximum transferrate you can get with your stick.
At the end of the test you will be provided with a single number called PI. PI stands for Performance Index and is normalized to 100, which is the value you get, when you measure the original 32 MB Memory Stick that came with your PSP. A PI of 200 means that your utilized stick is about two times faster than the 32 MB Sony memory pro duo.
Installation
Copy the folder blackSPEEDv2 to /PSP/GAME/.
User guide
Run the app and press Triangle to start the test. A screenshot of the test results is saved in the /PICTURES/ directory, and a log file is created in the root directory of the memory stick for comparison.
