A homebrew project that aims to create a Card Battle engine for RPG games on Nintendo DS, inspired by the card system found in the Baten Kaitos series: Players use cards to control their characters' movements and actions, and played in certain order will resulting flashing and devastating attack combos.
User guide
Whenever you play a card, a combo will start, and the timer will activate. Try to finish your combo before the time runs out.
To play cards in a combo, make sure their numbers go in ascending order like 0 > 1 > 2 > 3 > 4. You can start the combo with any card, but numberless ones won't result in a combo.
Once the combo starts, the helping system will find the next playable cards and point them.
Relay system : It's easy, after you end selecting cards with one character, select another one while the timer is still running. Done that, you can continue for longer card combos! Try to do a 10-card combo.
Controls
L/R - Change the music
Touch a card - Display name
Touch a card (while holding Left or Y) - Play selected card
Touch a card (while holding Down or B) - Discard card
Touch a pair of cards (while holding Up or X) - Swap cards
Touch a character minipotrait - Set him/her as the "selected character"

New Features:
- Relay system now works. It's easy, after you end selecting cards with one character, select another one while the timer is still running. Done that, you can continue for longer card combos! Try to do a 10-card combo.
Changes:
- Fixed a bug that happened when selecting the next character in the combo when the timer is almost to stop.
- Fixed a bug that made a character lose his/her turn when selected to participate in a card combo but played 0 cards.
- Removed some songs, making the build ~2.1MB (it was ~3MB in the previous version).
- The card tray now translates correctly user-selected cards into action codes.

New Features:
- Cards are now playable! Play them in succesion (0,1,2,3..) to make a combo, but be warned, you have a limited amount of time to do this.
- As I just mentioned, the combo timer is done.
- The card selection helping system activates when you play a card. If it's a numbered card, it will search your card for the most appropiate cards for you to play next. Obviously, it's just a help, you still need to select the cards to play them.
- The card tray now recieves your played cards and counts them, like the BK Origins battle system did
- The music is now loaded form the EFS, so music files are no longer a problem (build includes 8 tunes to demonstrate this).
New Controls:
- Touch a card with the stylus while holding Left or Y to play the card.

- Created classes for management of characters. (Sprites from http://www.spriters-resource.com)
- CardTray class created for checking player's card selections and transforming them into character actions.
- Also a lot of less important changes (changed bottom-screen background and the helpBar texture, erased some debug info and a LOT of code cleaning)

- Card are 3D Sprites now, allowing them to 'flip'.
- The contextual help bar can be maximized/minimized by just selecting it with the stylus.
- Deck now shuffles cards at start and every time you discard a card (so this time you get different almost always).
- At Hand Initialization, the cards flip in order, like they did in the game.
- When a card is discarded, the new card added to the hand from the right side is animated.
- New card added to show Numberless cards. This type of card won't be able to participate in a combo with the default set of card rules.
Update
- Keep Up or X pressed to have your stylus switch to Swap mode. A pair of cards selected with it will swap.
- Keep Down or B pressed to have your stylus switch to Discard mode. Any card selected will be discarded.
