{{MissingDL}} A program written by Art for backing up PSP UMDs to Memory Stick. This not only conserves the original disc, but playing the game from Memory Stick ISO file also saves battery power, and wear on the UMD drive. The UMD ISO file is given the title's catalogue number read from the disc, or in the case of UMD Video, an abbreviated version of the movie title. The ISO file is written straight to the ISO folder for immediate use with suitable unofficial hybrid PSP system firmware. The latest version of UMDrip also auto detects UMD Videos, and rips them to the correct Memory Stick directory ready for immediate use. Another late implementation is verification of the ISO file against the UMD media. Since it is assumed that the UMD media is the most unreliable, it is actually the disc that is read twice and compared against the Memory Stick write buffer in this case. The UMDrip program does not circumvent any protection measures. It merely copies entire disc images to a file on a Memory Stick. The UMDrip program does not, in itself, provide the functionality to play the saved disc image files. == Screenshots == https://dlhb.gamebrew.org/psphomebrew/images/umdripart2.png == Changelog == '''UMDrip V5''' * All ripping operations are verified. * Each sector of the UMD is read twice, and compared to the file writing buffer, * since it is assumed that it is the PSP UMD drives that will fail over time. * On screen message is displayed if the verify fails, but operation continues. * The verified ripping operation takes no more time than previous versions. '''UMDrip V4b''' * UMD thumbnails are displayed on the screen. * UMD Videos are auto detected, and video ISOs are written to the correct * folder: ms0:/ISO/VIDEO/ ready for instant mounting and playback with * a suitable custom firmware version. == External links == * Author's website - [https://web.archive.org/web/20081013160004/http://www.freewebs.com/defxev/UMDrip.htm http://www.freewebs.com/defxev/UMDrip.htm] (archived) * QuickJump - http://forums.qj.net/f-psp-development-forum-11/t-umdrip-v5-140375.html
