The Heart Rate Monitor program for the PSP was developed after the creator experimented with a commercial heart rate monitor that included a chest transmitter and a watch. By using a coil of copper wire connected to the PSP’s microphone input, it was able to detected the signal from the transmitter. Building on their previous work [[Audio Mechanica PSP|Audio Mechanica]], the PSP Heart Rate Monitor was created which can display heart rate and related statistics on the screen. == Installation == Copy the program folder "HRM" to the PSP/GAME folder of your PSP. Note that this program requires a bit of a hardware hack to get it working. == User guide == Once the program has launched, be sure your sensor is properly connected, and press the Cross button to begin the session. Pressing the Cross button again will end the session and reset the workout time display. Pressing the Circle button will exit the program. Pressing the Square button during a session will count in an extra heart beat. == Screenshots == https://dlhb.gamebrew.org/psphomebrew/images/pspheartratemonitor2.png == Compatibility == PSP Heart Rate Monitor is tested with a 3.03 OE firmware PSP unit. == Changelog == '''V2 2007/08/26''' * New method of calculating heart rate with high resolution, and display is updated every heart beat. * Pushing the Square button better simulates a heart beat, so you can take your heart rate with the program manually by pushing the button in time with your pulse. '''V1 2007/08/25''' * Shows wave display, heart beat graphic, current heart rate, and excersise session time. == External links == * QuickJump - http://forums.qj.net/f-psp-development-forum-11/t-psp-heart-rate-monitor-v2-119093.html
