InfinityCat 無限猫 (InfCat for short) is a clone of the freeware 2D fighting game engine M.U.G.E.N designed by Elecbyte. Due to the highly customizable nature, there are over thousands of fighters, both original and from popular fiction created by the Mugen community, which can be used in InfinityCat.
InfinityCat is available for several operating systems including Windows, OS/2 Warp, Linux, and the PlayStation Portable. It is no longer in development and the last version to be released to the public is Beta version in 2007.
Installation
To play the game, you need to add your own characters using the conversion tool StConv_Win32Release.exe.
You can find characters on many Megen fan sites and also archive.org, note that recently created characters will not work with this port. If you are unsure, check the mugenversion line in the charname.def file.
First copy the folder containing the custom character into InfCat/chars/.
Open command line and navigate to InfCat path and run the conversion tool.
- Usage: StConv_Win32Release.exe "charname" "charname".bin
- E.g.: StConv_Win32Release.exe ken ken.bin
This will give you a .bin file, move it into InfCat/chars/"charname"/ (E.g. InfCat/chars/ken/ken.bin).
Then open InfCat/data/select.def with a text editor and insert a new line for the character (supports up to 10 characters).
When you are done, copy the folder InfCat to ms0:/PSP/GAME/.
