Nazi Zombies: Portable (known as NZ:P) is a modification of Quake, developed by id software, made for the PSP system. NZ:P is a remake of the classic zombie mode from the Call of Duty series, and is an attempt to recreate the experience on your handheld device.
This homebrew is a zombie survival shooter made by NZ:P Team (from The Broken Line Studios) and its main focus is the World at War portion in this beta version. It is available for PlayStation Portable and any Windows machine.
It was participated in the PSP Genesis Competition 2011 (Talk Audiance Vote winner).
Installation
Place the NZ:P folder into your Memory Sticks /PSP/GAME/ folder.
Sound patch is available for the PSP unsigned version. To use, copy the nzp folder and replace the original one.
User guide
The objective is to survive from the waves of zombies for long as possible, gain points to purchase powerful weapons, unlock new areas, upgrade your weapons, and purchase perks so you can survive more easily.
Currently, the two most powerful weapons within the game are the Wunderwaffe DG-2 and the Ray Gun, both capable of dealing huge amounts of damage on zombies.
There are also easter eggs on certain levels, which you will receive some special rewards upon completion.
Gameplay
You start out at Round 1, where few zombies will come. After you kill the full wave of zombies, it will switch off to Round 2 where more zombies will come.
The longer you survive, the harder it gets.
You get points for rebuilding barricades, damaging zombies, knifing zombies, etc.
The points can then be used to open doors, buy perks, buy weapons off the walls, and use the Mystery Box.
The Mystery Box is a box where you pay 950 points in exchange for a random weapon, it ranges from a pistol to a killing machine.
If you're playing multiplayer, you use teamwork and tactics to survive the onslaught.
Stick together to survive. It has only just begun. Welcome to NZ:P.
FAQ
Q. Do I need to have a psp with custom firmware to be able to play this?
No, a signed eboot.pbp is provided that NZ:P can be played on any PSP out there.
Q. Does this work on the PS Vita?
It should if you can find a way to run it on the PSV.
However it will only work on the psp emulator, so some of the features of the Vita will not be supported.
There is no native Vita support in future plans.
Q. Are custom maps supported?
Absolutely. Custom maps are one of Quake's biggest draws and we love them too.
Full on tutorials showcasing how to use new features and fgd's will be released as soon as they are ready.
Head over to the forum for more info.
Q. What took you so long?
College has demanded a lot of attention from the developers, and the drastically different timezones for the developers makes casual communication difficult.
But the determination to finish NZ:P has not faded.
