Yahtzee DS (French) is a port of popular dice game Yatzy on to the Nintendo DS platform. It is a homebrew game which accurately simulates the classic dice game from Milton Bradley, with the goal being to get the highest possible score by adding up the corresponding points gained through certain dice combinations.

This project was developed under the Eclipse with emulator NO$GBA. It also utilizes libnds for its 2D and 3D graphics library, as well as EFSlib for its backups.

Installation

Download and extract file.

DLDI patch it if needed (if your card does not have auto-patching) and copy it to the root directory of the card.

Note: DLDI is optional, you can play the homebrew without patching but without the best score feature.

User guide

How to play:

The game consists of several turns. Each round consists of two throws.

The first throw is made by choosing Throw on the touch screen. Once this first roll is made, you can choose the value you want to keep, via the small dice at the bottom of the screen.

The red dice are blocked while the green dice will be re-rolled on the second roll.

You then perform the second throw by choosing Raise then Throw. The unblocked dice then get a new value.

Once there, choose amoung two pages (accessible via the small arrows) the score you want to fill. If it does not match the combination, then the score is set to zero.

The game is over once all the scores on both pages are completed.

The M icon provides access to a menu during the game.

Compatibility

Tested on NO$GBA and hardware via R4 and everything worked fine without patching. Under the backup emulator highscore does not work.
