Systemdev spent some time creating patches to enable playing select third-party online games on banned Switch consoles. The project is called "tagNX" (Together AGain NX). Although similar projects exist, systemdev included these for testing the auto-update functionality. More patches are planned, but systemdev wanted to release something early instead of holding onto unreleased work indefinitely.
Supported Titles (as of 1/19/2025):
- Minecraft
- Minecraft Dungeons
- Fall Guys
- Among Us
- Dauntless
- Crunchyroll
- Hulu
- YouTube
To use these patches
- Install the LATEST game version.
- Extract the provided zip file to the root of your SD card.
- Launch the game normally and follow any onscreen prompts for signing in.
While not flawless, systemdev implemented some self-updating mechanisms using symbol lookups and signature scanning. YouTube, Crunchyroll, and Hulu patches are unlikely to require frequent updates, but game patches may be less stable.
The source code is included in this post as "tagNX-Source-v1.zip." Users are encouraged to update or port tagNX patches to additional titles, but please share your improvements publicly. Note: Minecraft Dungeons uses an older, highly experimental version of tagNX, and its source will be released once it's updated to the more stable codebase.
