A pre-alpha version of Dethrace has been released on the 3DS console. This game is a port of the iconic and controversial Carmageddon, originally released in 1997. Known for its violent gameplay, Carmageddon allows players to score points by running over pedestrians and engaging in high-speed races.

The 3DS version is the result of meticulous reverse engineering, adapting the original code to Nintendo's portable console. This offers nostalgic fans a fresh experience on a modern platform.

Although still in the early stages of development, this port represents an intriguing experiment in reviving a racing classic. It's important to note that Dethrace does not include any built-in game content; users will need access to the original game data.

If you do not own an original Carmageddon CD, you can purchase the game from GoG.com. Additionally, Dethrace also supports several freeware demos of the game:

  • Original Carmageddon Demo
  • Splat Package Demo
  • Splat Pack Xmas Demo

Many other additional contents and curiosities are available on the Road Reaction website, a reference point for fans of the game.
