Hoola DS is a homebrew Poker game.
User guide
Basics
The objective of the game is to obtain a hand of matching sets.
The player seated to the left hand of the dealer begins by drawing one card - either the top card of the stock or the top card of the discard pile and adds it to his hand.
Each player does the same. Each one must then lay down on the table, face up, any matched set.
Discard one card, face up, on top of the discard pile (THROW), you must register it in the same turn.
In Combat Hoola, any player can do THROW at occasion that registration is available drawing discard card.
Game modes
Authentic hoola and combat hoola are available. During the combat hoola, you will be given a 2 second THROW time, and your order will be randomly determined.
Actions
- RUN - Place cards.
- GROUP - Make groups of 3 or 4 letters of the same digit.
- THROW - Discard the unwanted card.
- STOP - Leave the game.
- DECK (Tux) - Draw a card.
How to play
At the start, choose between authentic hoola and combat hoola.
- The order is randomized and proceeds clockwise.
- The unit score is 500 points.
When there is a chance discard card (THROW) for the battle hoola, you can choose discard card.
- Registration is possible if there are 3 or more consecutive numbers or consecutive numbers with the same pattern (GROUP and RUN).
- And once registered, it can be pasted onto the registered card one by one.
- Note that only 7 can be registered one by one.
Fines
If you do not register by the end of the game, you will have to pay double your fine for unregistered nights.
If you fail to register 7 cards at the end of the game, it is called 7 nights and you have to pay twice your penalty for the number of 7 cards. Depending on the number of 7 cards, it becomes 2x, 4x, or 8x.
Bring a discarded card to the discard area, and if it can be registered immediately, you can bring it by shouting. When the opponent tanks with the cards you discarded and discards all cards to finish the game, it is called tanking and you have to pay all the fines of other players instead.
If the sum of cards is 15 or less, a STOP is possible. The STOP must be decided before the card is drawn. When you STOP, if the opponent has less than the sum of their cards, it is called a stop time and you have to pay double the sum of all other players' fines.
If you draw a card (DRAW) and discard (THROW) 8 cards at once, this is called hoola. Opponents will have to pay 4 times their fine.
At the end of the game, each player's card sum is calculated and compared with each other. Player with the smallest card sum wins and ranks are determined in order. The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th places will have to pay 1, 2, and 3 times the fine respectively.
