To get an exploit working on your Wii U, there are two methods. The recommended way is to buy a compatible DS game from the eShop and install haxchi. You'll still need to run a web exploit once to install haxchi, but it's a one-time requirement. You can find web exploits on various sites, and "loadiine.ovh" is a recommended option.

This all-in-one self hosting package offers an alternative if buying a game is not feasible or you want the exploit for offline hosting.

Installation

Download the package from the release thread. The package are comprised of 2 parts: the first is for the xampp software, and the second contains the entire web exploit pack with all the necessary software.

If this is your first installation, download and install the XAMPP before proceeding with the AIO Self-Hosting Package.

If this is not your first installation and you want to update from an older package, replace and merge everything from the "WiiU" folder to your server. Then replace everything in the "SD CARD" folder on your SD card.

(Note: If Windows Defender interrupts the unzipping of these files, turn off Windows Defender real-time protection and unzip again. The actual exploit payloads may be flagged as viruses by Windows Defender. Alternatively, you can add an exception inside your antivirus.)

Install XAMPP on a local PC on the same network as the Wii U (xampp installer included in the "PC Software" folder).

Browse to "c:\xampp\htdocs" and copy the "WiiU" from the zip inside there.

Folder structure should look like:

c:\xampp\htdocs\WiiU\553
                    \cafiine...
                    \hbl...
                    \kexploit...
                    \loadiinegx2...
                    \mocha...
                    \removeupdate...
                    \res...
                    \sdcafiine...
                    index.html
                    index532.html
                    index540-553.html
                    menu.json
                    menu.json.txt

Copy everything INSIDE the "SD Card" folder to the root of your SD card, overwriting files when prompted.

Insert SD card back into Wii U.

User guide

How to use

Instructions:

  • Turn on Apache in XAMPP.
  • Test the website on the local PC by opening a browser (Chrome or another) and go to: localhost/WiiU
  • Learn your local PC's IP address and use that in the next step.
    • (On Windows, open command prompt and write "ipconfig". Look for the Ipv4 line; that will be your local address.)
  • Open your Wii U, open the browser.
  • Click on settings in the upper right corner, click "Reset Save Data," and browse the web page: http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/WiiU (replace the "xx" with your local IP)
  • You should see the main exploit page loaded. Proceed to the one for your Wii U's firmware.

If you change the port number in XAMPP to make it work, include that in the URL. For example, if you change the port to "12345," the address you should use in the Wii U browser is: http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:12345/WiiU

If you want to trick your Wii U into loading the same page every time you open the browser, follow these steps:

  • Let's say you want to load the main exploit page every time by default. First, turn off your server (or just turn off Wi-Fi).
  • Open the browser and type in the direct link for your exploit (http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/WiiU/).
  • The page will fail (if you have your web server off or Ethernet disconnected or Wi-Fi turned off).
  • Press the Home button on the Wii U.
  • Press Wii U Menu.
  • Open Mii Maker and let it load.
  • Exit Mii Maker with the button in the bottom left.
  • Now, every time you open your browser, it will go to that link immediately. You can cancel this by following the same steps for a different link.

Troubleshooting

  • Make sure to "Reset Save Data" in your Wii U browser settings before trying any of this.
  • Read all Notes in the instructions.
  • If you get "SD Mount Failed" or any error message about the SD card, follow these steps:
    • a. First, ensure that you have formatted your SD to FAT32 using the tool in the instructions.
    • b. Make sure you are not using a cheap knock-off SD card; many of those don't work.
    • c. Ensure that you have copied all files inside the "SD CARD" folder to the root of your SD. It should look like this: SD:\wiiu...
