Jet Set Wiily is a Wii remake of Jet Set Willy (JSW) is being developed with a unique approach. Instead of having multiple screens, the game will have only one screen. The game can be played by uploading the DOL file to an SD card and running it through a homebrew loader, or by uploading it to the Gecko homebrew front end using the WiiLoad.Exe app.

The graphics in the game have been ripped from a Java version found on a PC, and they are well suited for the Wii. The graphics are powered by GRRLIB. Additionally, the game will play MP3 music in the background to give it a retro feel, like the original JSW game.

This project was recovered from a failed NAS box, and the source code is available. The developer may take the project up again if they can recreate the development environment.

Controls

The game will be controlled using the Wiimote sideways with the dpad used to control Willy and the 'A' button to jump. The 'B' button will toggle the debug info on and off.

How To Play

The first screen of the game will allow players to navigate through the tile maps, which are animated, and will include rooms on the sides of the screen that become visible as players get closer or become darker as they move away.
