Orbz is a PSP homebrew game based on the PC version made by DJShrimpy with Game Maker 6.1.
It is a platform jumper coded in Lua.
User guide
How to play
The object if the game is to get your Orb to the exit portal while avoiding obstacles and enemies. Colored blocks can be destroyed by finding the corresponding key for that color.
You start each stage with 3 lives. When you get killed by an enemy Orb, you will be returned to the start point of that stage. Lose all three lives and you will be sent to the previous stage, with your 3 lives back.
After you get the Power Sphere, you will unlock the Shock Attack. You are completely invincible during the attack, any enemy that touches you dies, unless they are doing a similar attack.
Custom levels
To create your own levels, open up the LUA file with your favorite text editor (preferably Notepad) and add blocks using letters:
- a - Yellow blocks.
- b - Blue blocks.
- c - Dirt blocks (floor).
- d - Blue key.
Each level should also have:
- "playerX" and "playerY" - The Orb start point.
- "exitX" and "exitY" - The exit portal coordinates.
- "nxt" and "prev" - Indicates the previous level, and next level (don't forget to put .lua at the end).
You can also adjust music volume and background images as well (they have to take up the full PSP screen, or the rest will be black space).
The first "room" in the text file is how it is when you start. The next "room" is when you grab the key. So be creative and only take out the blue blocks.
Controls
Left/Right - Move your Orbz left/right
Up/Cross - Jump
Square - Shock Attach (after you unlock it)
