If you're into visual novels, you'll love this: Neet Girl Date Night is now available for the PSVITA! This port was made possible thanks to the Renpy PSVITA Dist Tool by SonicMastr (huge shoutout to him!). I just had to tweak the gui.rpy file and remove a pesky line of code that was causing the game to crash at startup.

This awesome game was created by Hitsuji Goods, and I’m super grateful to her for letting me release this port. You can follow her on Twitter here and check out her amazing art. The original game is available here, and I highly recommend supporting her work!

Big thanks to the entire Neet Girl Date Night team for bringing this game to life. The Livearea assets were also made by Hitsuji Goods. Given that Kara mods PSVITAs, it felt perfect to port this game. Enjoy!

How to install

  1. Download the VPK and gui.rpy file and drag them to your PSVITA
  2. Install the VPK
  3. Download Neet Girl Date Night from here and extract the zip file (https://hitsujigoods.itch.io/ngdn)
  4. Go inside the Game folder and delete the file named gui.rpy
  5. Copy the contents of the Game folder to uxo:app/NGDN0000/game/
  6. Put the gui.rpy file from this github page inside the uxo:app/NGDN0000/game/ folder
  7. Launch the game and enjoy :D

Notes

During the testing, the game ran smoothly. The menus can be a bit slow, but the rest of the game functions perfectly fine. The text is off-centered and doesn't stay within the box, which is something they plan to fix later on, but the game is still playable. 99.9% of the text in the game is readable. If something is unreadable, players can check the log in the game. Launching the game takes a while, and on the main menu screen, players need to push down on the analog stick and press the X button to access the actual main menu. Highly recommended using the touch screen for UI navigation.
