Inspired by Redwall, WarCraft, and the tactics genre, Brookwood: Pocket Tactics is a tiny tactics game for the Game Boy Color. Built with the Forgotten Engine by nowheresoft, (and GB Studio), it is a game about managing your troops in a battle of medieval animals.

The original prototype of Brookwood was released for the GB Studio Game Jam 2021.

Installation

The game can be downloaded as a ROM file on itch.io.

Play it using an emulator or on real hardware with a flashcart.

User guide

Play as one of four factions (the Khalifa of Rodents, the Sultanate of Cats, the Eashir of Birds, and the Hashd'n of Lizards) in an Islamic-inspired world.

Click on a unit to move them. Click Fight to engage the enemy.

During the enemy turn, enemy units will target the nearest player unit and attack if within range.

Controls

A - Move a unit, Engage the enemy

B - Cancel action

Start/B - End turn

Select - Check your current HP
