Halo 2D is a PS Vita port of Halo Zero, which is a fan-made 2D sidescroller shoot 'em up PC game developed by Dobermann. It was publicly released on December 12, 2005, through hosting servers. The game's storyline draws inspiration from the Fall of Reach events preceding Halo: Combat Evolved. Notably, it is important to mention that Halo 2D is considered non-canon as it is not officially endorsed by Microsoft or Bungie.

About The Game

The game unfolds amidst the intense Battle of Reach, where John-117 valiantly combats hordes of Covenant forces infiltrating the "Complex." In a gripping sequence, he is rescued by a Pelican aircraft only to face another perilous encounter as his vehicle comes under fire and crashes. Trekking through a dense forest, John eventually stumbles upon a Warthog, embarking on a thrilling journey. As their exhilarating ride concludes, he disembarks and takes decisive action to thwart the destruction of a vital generator by a Covenant bomb.

With the bomb disarmed, Vice Admiral Whitcomb urgently contacts John-117, revealing his capture aboard a Covenant vessel. Determined to rescue the Admiral, John undertakes a daring mission to CASTLE Base, where he joins forces with Sergeant Johnson, who has absconded with a valuable artifact. United in purpose, the duo fearlessly battles against relentless Covenant opposition until a timely arrival of a Pelican offers them salvation, whisking them away to safety.
