GameCube games can be played from an SD card or USB device using Devolution. This is possible even on systems without GameCube support, including the Wii U. A compatibility list can be found on WikiTemp.

Features

  • Loads games from SD card and USB hard drives
  • Emulates memory card for SD, USB, and NAND
  • Supports multiple controllers including Wiimote with Classic Controller, Wii U Pro Controller, PS3 Controller, OUYA Controller, Xbox 360 Controller, USB/Bluetooth Keyboard, and Wii U USB GameCube Adapter
  • Emulates GameCube modem and broadband adapter for online play
  • Has screenshot support and the ability to post games in "Today's Events" on the Wii Wall
  • Can stretch the picture horizontally for underscan on newer TVs

Installation

To install Devolution, a Wii with GameCube support is required. Clean ISOs (1:1 copies, untrimmed) should be placed in a /games/ folder on the SD card or USB device. Devolution can be downloaded through the homebrew channel and mounted on either the SD card or USB device.

To play a game, the original GameCube disc must be inserted and the game should start. To link the game to another Wiimote, press and hold the RESET button on the front of the Wii while loading a game.

More information can be found in the enclosed readme.txt.
