This homebrew is made with the intention to emulate a DJ's turntable, better known as DJ Mixer.

It was participated in a contest organized by www.psp-ita.com in 2010.

Features

  • Save/Load language selection into the file (settings.cfg).
  • Whole Memory Stick MP3 file browser, always visible and quick handling.
  • Loads two tracks, simultaneously (one in each plate).
  • Individual volume control for each track.
  • Crossfader.
  • Playback Control for each track (Play, Pause and Stop).
  • Visual indicators that show the status of:
    • Iluminated Stop and Play/Pause buttons.
    • Plates spin depending on track status.
    • Volume level of each track.
    • Crossfader status.
    • Loaded tracks names.
  • Possibility to replace the sound effects:
    • Just put the desired effects in the folder "effects" with the name of the button when you want it play.
    • The buttons are limited to: Triangle, Square, Cross, Circle.
    • The effects must be in wav format with a speed transmission of 1411kbps to be so correct and should not be very large in size.
  • Possibility to make your own theme - replace the images inside "images" folder.
  • Three languages election: Espanish, English and Italian.
  • Possibility to check controls' layout any time.

Controls

Global:

Start - Show/Hide controls screen

Select - Change between Mixer, Folders and Files

Home - Exit QMixer

Browser (Folders):

Triangle - Go to the top folder

Cross - Enter to selected folder

Right - Go to selected folder´s MP3 list

Browser (Files):

Left - Back to folders list

Square - Load the selected track on the vinyl A

Circle - Load the selected track on the vinyl B

Mixer:

Right/Left - Move the crossfader to the right/left

Square/Tiangle/Cross/Circle - Play the effect assigned

Vinyl A:

L+Square - Stop track

L+Cross - Play/Pause track

L+Up/Down - Volume up/down

Vinyl B:

R+Square - Stop track

R+Cross - Play/Pause track

R+Up/Down - Volume up/down

Comaptibility

Tested on 5.00M33-6, although it should work on GEN as well.

  • Fixed - When going back to XMB without loading any track the program crashes.
  • Fixed - Trying to play plate B without loading a track the program crashes.
  • Fixed - If the mp3 file's name is 44 characters long the extension ".mp3" is shown.
  • Fixed - If 4th character before a folder's name end is a dot, the name shows wrong.
  • Fixed - If mp3 file extension is one of these ".Mp3", ".mP3" or ".MP3" it doesn't load.
  • Fixed - Sometimes plates never spin.
