  • 7 different upgradeable weapons (8 if you count dual pistols as it's own weapon).
  • Custom sound effects.
  • Custom models.
  • Custom map textures.
  • Fully working gameplay (might include bugs, try to shoot them).
  • Co-op multiplayer for PSP AD-HOC.

Installation

Extract the archive to ms:/PSP/GAME/.

You need CFW or some other way of running homebrew software.

User guide

Gameplay

In this game you are put against waves and waves of spider-like aliens and your objective is to survive as long as you can.

To make it more exciting, you gain money from killing enemies and you can use that money to buy and upgrade your weapons between rounds at the shop terminal.

This is necessary as your enemies get stronger every wave.

Shop

There's one shop terminal in each map, it looks like a grey box with a blue sceen.

You can enter the shop between waves by simply walking towards it.

If you've bought a weapon, you can upgrade the weapon once, by buying it again.

This will make the weapon much more powerful and is necessary during later waves.

Weapons

Weapon Cost Details
Pistol - Your sidearm, you start with it. It's not too powerful and it has a small magazine. It has infinite ammo.
Dual pistols 100 Upgrades your pistol to dual pistols, magazine size is doubled and so is the rate of fire. It can be upgraded to make it even faster and carry more ammo in the magazines. Just like the pistol, it has infinite ammo.
Sub Machinegun 140 It has a high rate of fire, low damage and accuracy, large magazine size. Upgrading it makes it even faster and gives it more ammo. The amount of ammo you can carry can get to you in late game.
Assault Rifle 200 It's accurate, deals good damage, but the magazine size and firerate are much lower than SMG's. Upgrading makes up for these factors and makes the weapon very powerful.
Combat Shotgun 180 It can kill bugs with single shots in early waves when you'll be likely to buy this weapon. The spread of the pellets makes it bad for enemies at a long range, better get more personal with them. Upgrading it makes it better all around.
Sawed-off Shotgun 200 You can shoot only twice before reloading. It packs a lot of punch, but like with the Combat Shotgun, you need to be close to your enemies. When upgraded, its high damage makes it viable for late game.
Grenade Launcher 375 Fires explosives grenades that explode on contact, very powerful especially against groups of bugs. Try not to kill yourself with it.
Plasma Rifle 450 The high price makes it a late game weapon, it fires powerful plasma balls in rapid fire. The weapon is not very effective when not upgraded unless you've managed to get it early. It's usually a good idea to use another weapon until you have 900 to upgrade it right after buying it.

Changelog

Beta2

  • Maps. Included in Beta 2 there are 3 playable maps: Helipad, Cargo bay and Caverns. Helipad was in the first release already,
  • Multiplayer. PSP Ad-Hoc multiplayer should be working the same way it used to (not tested). Not sure about PSP Infrastructure online play either, it might or might not work.
  • Bonus pickups. Enemies have a chance of dropping money, health or ammo pickups when they die. This mechanic really adds to the game and is necessary during later waves.
  • Fixes. Fixed a ton of small and bigger problems that were in the first release, and a ton of those that were made after the first release. It should feel like a polished game on both PC and PSP now.

Credits

  • id Software for making Quake, one of the best shooters of all time.
  • MDave for Kurok and its engine.
  • John Fitzgibbons and Baker for FitzQuake Plus.
  • Biodude and Cameron for help with the sounds.
  • Moddb community for support.
  • Tuomas "Shpuld" Kaukoranta for everything else.
