It was participated in the GBA Jam 2021.
User guide
You can walk and swing the sword, depending on which direction you swing you sword, affects the sound so you can kind of tell which direction its coming from.
Please use headphones or earphones for this effect to work better.
Changelog
Update 2021/12/05
- Added a night time walk in a housing area. You can get to it by walking all the way to the left of the train. Most of the work I've been doing has been on my dev tools so nothing special is noticeable for players. I'm pausing development on this for now as I have no idea how to make this a compeling/fun game. But I'll continue to work on the engine while developing my other game here which uses the same engine. Thanks for the support and I hope I can get back to this one with some better ideas for gameplay and story.
Update 2021/08/26
- No significant changes here. Just added a few effects here and there. I at least have a better idea on how to create sound effects.
Update 2021/07/26
- Hi guys, so just a heads up. It looks like it'll be a couple of weeks before I can get another update in. Unfortunately I rushed this out to meet the jam deadline and I didn't properly learn how to make sound effects. So I'll take the next few weeks learning it to make some proper updates.
- Also for those of you who were able to download the game "testingtheengine.gba", that too is its own game for those that are curious. Though I have no idea if I will try to implement the 3d sound there as well as currently the processing for it is rather costly and I have yet to optimize it, if it is at all possible at that.
Update 2021/07/14
- Updated 3dSoundSample.gba Finally found what was messing up my engine. The 3d sound works somewhat, but its still crude.
