RPG DEMO is an updated early RPG Demo by Xteaph-N. Written in Lua, the RPG game in development is a reminiscent of retro role-playing game.

It was participated in the Scenery Beta 2009 (PSP Games).

Features

  • Retro graphics.
  • Controls similar to those of the old nintendo role-playing games.
  • Turn-based fighting.
  • Possibility of launching both physical and magical attacks.
  • Possibility of interacting with different NPC's.

  • Everything has been completely rewritten. The Overworld uses tile based maps.
  • Also the battle system has been rewritten to use table based systems as well.

  • Pertain to the battle system. Everything now has collision.
  • All the buildings can be entered.
  • Changed how all the collisions work.
  • Changed how the camera works.
  • Also include a demo of how speaking to NPC's will work.

  • Very early framework of the town/overworld.
  • Fixed a problem in the battle system where you couldn't pick who you wanted to attack with magic.

  • Rewritten the framework so now it can easily support many different magics, allies, and enemies.
  • This demo has 2 spells, 1 enemy, and 2 players.
  • The battle system is at this point pretty much complete.
