Mythri was an American-developed, Japanese-style RPG originally intended for the Game Boy Color. However, development shifted to the Game Boy Advance after its release. The game had been in development by Team XKalibur since around 2000. Unfortunately, it was officially cancelled at the end of 2005 due to a lack of resources. Team XKalibur disbanded, with most members moving on to work for various game companies.
In 2016, a playable prototype was released by Tomm Hulett, one of the former developers of the project.
The release contains assets from the Game Boy Color development include character art, promotional sketches, concept sketches for spell effects, and various builds of the game.
It also features in-game art for battle backgrounds, character sprites for map scenes, battle animations, and illustrations that cover the entire game's story. The artwork was done by Carolyn Carter and colored pixel-by-pixel by different individuals, including Steve Robinson.
The collection also includes area maps, screenshots provided to publishers, and a sampling of music from the game. The full soundtrack can be accessed through links to YouTube and SoundCloud.
Additionally, an extra section covers the GBA version with new key art, demo screenshots, graphic comparisons with the original version, and a press release. It contains various sketches created by Carolyn Carter, Carsten Bradley, and Hethe Srodawa specifically for the GBA version.
