Installation

Since v0.3, there are 2 versions:

  • Standard - Running in user mode, for FW 2.0+.
  • ME - Running in kernel mode and using the Media Engine for sound mixing, only works for FW 1.0/1.5.

To install, copy the directories corresponding to your PSP version to ms0:/PSP/GAME/.

You can put the rom files anywhere you want, a SAVES subdirectory will be created in you install directory. FAQ and TXT files should go in the FAQS subdirectory.

Note: If you have previous version installed, create a new directory and do a clean install. Installing over an existing directory is not recommanded.

User guide

DATA subdirectory is composed of the following.

  • music.zip - Put your own SPC file in this archive to have them played in GUI.
  • logo.zip - Put your own JPG file in this archive to have your own backgrounds in GUI.
  • snesadvance.dat - The speedhack, can be customized if you known what you're doing.
  • msg.ini - Start of an internationalization, not used yet.
  • graphics - PNG files for danzeff OSK.

All Savestate files, SRAM file and JPG snapshot will be written in the SAVES subdirectory.

Settings are saved in the PROFILES subdirectory.

Rendering modes

  • Mode0 - Optimized Snes9x.
  • Mode1 - Original Snes9x.
  • Mode2 - Hardware accelerated (using PSP's GU).
  • Mode3 - Adaptive rendering Mode 2 + Mode 1 (default).
  • Mode4 - Adaptive rendering Mode 2 + Mode 0.

Recommended settings

  • PSP Clockspeed: 333Mhz
  • Sound: 44000
  • Frameskip: 1
  • PSP Accel+Accu: Soft

The above settings should works for most games, alternatively you can reduce sound frequency to 22050 and add frameskip.

The Hack/Debug menu can make many games full speed with only minor loss aesthetically if used correctly.

For games that are running slow, you can disable transparencies, ignore palette writes and ignore fixed color changes.
