Karaokii is a karaoke application designed for the Wii. It syncs song lyrics with the rhythm of the music being played. To use Karaokii, the song files must be stored in the /apps/Karaokii/songs/ folder of an SD card that is readable by the Wii. As a sample song, Sean Fournier's hit "Broken Stereo (Acoustic Version)" is included. You can hear or download the entire album "Oh My" for free from Jamendo. You can also download additional sample songs from the Karaokii Download Center or use Ultrastar songs. If you create your own Karaokii songs, you can share them by contacting the developer or using the discussion page. A submission form will be available soon.

Karaokii supports OGG format for music files and two types of lyrics: line karaoke and word karaoke. The application can read Ultrastar, Ultrastar-ng, Ultrastar Deluxe, and Performous lyrics files by changing their extension to .ki3. All .kii, .ki2, and .ki3 files can be animated using image scripting. Currently, Karaokii does not support voice recognition as there are no microphone libraries available.

Line karaoke displays the entire line of lyrics for each timemark. The lyrics must follow a format similar to an .lrc file and be stored in a .kii file. The timing can be formatted in several ways, such as [mm:ss:xx], [mm:ss.xx], [mm.ss:xx], or [mm.ss.xx]. A sharp sign can also be used in place of a timed line without any text.

Word karaoke provides word-by-word karaoke support. The lyrics must be stored in a .ki2 file and follow a format similar to an enhanced .lrc file. The timing for each word or syllable is indicated using mm:ss.xx tags. The first word takes the timing of the line timecode between [] and the rest take it from the previous <> tag.

Regular Ultrastar and derivative .txt lyrics files are compatible with Karaokii. To use these files, change the extension to .ki3, convert the .mp3 file to .ogg, and resize the album cover to 180x180px and switch it to PNG format if desired. The song and album cover files must be named the same as the karaoke file. All media must be placed directly in the /apps/Karaokii/songs/ folder of the SD card.
