Homebrew Sorter is a tool for the Nintendo Wii that allows you to organize your homebrew applications into different categories, directly from your Wii. It is similar to Categorii Wii but with an easier to use interface and simple management.

How to Install

  • To use Homebrew Sorter, create a folder named "/apps" on the root of your SD card (e.g. E:/apps).
  • Unzip the downloaded file, and copy the "homebrew_sorter" folder to the "/apps" folder on your SD card.

Usage

  • Upon starting the program, navigate to the settings and use the Plus button on the Wiimote to assign homebrew applications to different categories. To remove applications, press the Minus button.
  • You can switch between categories by selecting them from the left menu. Keep in mind that the same application can be assigned to multiple categories.
  • Once you have finished organizing your applications, return to the main menu and select a category to display in the HBC.
  • Note that if you wish to switch between loading from SD or USB, you will need to restart the homebrew sorter program.

How it works

  1. Homebrew Sorter reads all the folders on your SD or USB device, it checks to see if a boot.dol/elf is present.
  2. It then goes and checks a homebrew list file (on your device) to see which homebrew you have assigned to which categories.
  3. Once you select a category, it renames all the boot.dol/elf of the applications which shouldn't be shown to boot.dol/elf.bak
