C-Dogs DS is a port of the classic C-Dogs (cyberdogs 2), a top-view gauntlet style shooter, to Nintendo DS. It's based on C-Dogs SDL 0.4 source however this DS version does not quite match the 0.4 version number.

It was entered into the 2009 best DS homebrew contest.

Installation

Copy the data folder to the root of your card.

The .nds file can go anywhere (you may need to DLDI patch it if your card does not have auto-patching).

User guide

You can customize your character and select from a variety of weapons.

You walk/slide around, collect keys and you have to kill the weird looking enemies or destroy things and make your way to the exit.

Leave the humans alone, they are just there to get in your way.

Controls

D-Pad - Move

A - Use weapon

B+D-Pad - Slide

B (when not moving) - Change weapon

X - Esc, Cancel

Start - Pause

Select - Map, Objectives

Known issues

This NDS version currently only runs at 10 FPS and has no sound, so it's not really playable yet.

Changelog

v0.3 2007/10/27

  • Most of the control issues are fixed and it now runs at 256x192. It's still slow and sound doesn't work.

v0.1 2006/10/09

  • Quick port to DS (it had major control issues, text was hard to read (scaling issues) and it only supported old homebrew devices).
