Dawnseekers is a full 3D first person shooter for the Nintendo DS coded by smealum, and with graphics made by Lobo.
It features two maps, two weapons and 4 different enemy types. An advanced 3D engine which can not only render very big and detailed maps, but also multiple enemies on screen at once, with some lighting effects. Most of the code are written with the exception of the base of MD2 loader by Smealum, which was first coded by the owner of tfc.duke.free.fr, then reused by Payk then finally re-optimized by Smealum(can render up to four time faster).
It was an entry to the Scenery Beta 2009 and the NEO Summer Coding Compo 2009, ranked 2nd under Game section.
Objectives
Kill without getting killed and to get to the end of each level.
Controls
D-PAD/ABXY - move
R/L - shoot
Stylus - aim/change weapons
Select - open doors (this is very important)
Button in lower right corner of touchscreen - open doors
Start - pause (less important
Compatibility
Tested on:
FlashCard iTouchDS with firmware 3.2e (test of Staff)
SuperCard DSONEi (takes a few minutes to boot with blank screen)
The author reports problems Acekard 2/2i (recommended firmware update)
Possible problems in R4, need to play this in a folder.
