Dual strike is a DS homebrew shooter, came around as an idea to see if it was possible for a player to control both screens at the same time. The end result of this is a cross between Astroids and Ikaruga.
User guide
You control 2 ships at the same time, one on each screen:
- Each ship has their own colour, 1 blue 1 red.
- Each ship fires bullets based on their colour.
- There are 3 colours of Astroids: blue, red and gray.
You must shoot the right astroids with the right colours, this is done by allowing the ships to change screens. The ships are moved at the same time, but shooting is done by a per ship basis.
When a ship gets hit it will get knocked out of the game area, the ship will return after a short while.
The game is lost when both ships are lost at the same time.
Controls
Left/Right - Change direction of ship
Up - Moves ship in direction
Y - Shoot blue bullets
A - Shoot red bullets
L - Switch ships
