WipEout Pure: Special Edition is the ultimate version of the beloved anti-gravity racing game, WipEout Pure. This edition is a custom version that includes all previously released Downloadable Content (DLC) and promotional content.

Features

• New XMB art (for real PSP).

• Revamped menus: Cleaner look, "Settings" moved under "Options", etc.
• Exclusive category promo tracks: Puma versions of Koltiwa, Anulpha Pass, Khara Descent, and Iridia.
• New "Transcendence" tournament featuring all 16 Descension + Delta tracks.
• Built-in 60FPS in all game modes and menus (recommended for real PSP).
• Disabled DLC Signature Check.
• Built-in Japanese language.
• Promotional Pack DLC: Separated promo content.
• Expert Pack DLC: Harder AI and an optional Expert+ patch with increased weapon damage, higher Zone records, and no energy from absorbing pickups.

The patch is distributed in xdelta format. You can apply the patch with either xdelta UI (Win), Delta Patcher (Win/Linux) or MultiPatch (macOS).

Note:

• Applying the patch changes the game ID from UCES-00001 to WPSE-02197. This makes base game saves from pervious versions incompatible.
• Version 5.2A removes the sun lens flare effect, which is inaccurately rendered on PPSSPP (always visible / flickering). This version is intended for use with PPSSPP, since the effect is correct on real hardware.

Emulation-related improvements (PPSSPP)

Texture pack:

• Improves the user-interface at higher resolutions. Incomplete.

Glow effect:

• The glow effect of WipEout Pure / Pulse does not scale well at higher resolutions and results in artifacts around some bright objects like lights.
• To fix this, set "Lower resolution for effects" to "Aggressive" in the Graphics options.

Postprocessing effects:

• Select "Supersampling AA (Gauss)" in "Settings > Display layout & effects > Postprocessing shaders".

Anti-aliasing:

• 2x to 8x (only supported on the Vulkan video backend).
