OpenPoké was an attempted to rewrite the Pokémon engine as seen in Poké Fire Red from scratch; a game engine recreation. It runs on the same system as the original - the GameBoy Advance.

  • Fully seamless map scroll (courtesy of Cearn).
  • Animated map tiles.
  • Day/night color effects (color blend routine by Cearn).
  • Sixteen different sets of wild Pokémon encounters — four times of day, four discovery methods.
