JetPak DX, also known as GB JetPak, is a port of the renowned classic Jetpac, originally created by Ultimate Play The Game.

The game was developed by Quang, with the help of Manfred Linzner on sound and music, along with Veepixels contributing graphics. In 1999, the game was submitted to Bung Enterprises Coding Competition and came in 2nd place.

In 2020, a new version titled Super JetPack DX was released on Game Boy cartridges. This enhanced edition features new graphics and gameplay elements, and it is available for purchase at Pocket Pixel Design.

Changelog

1.00

  • It's been like ages since I've done an update. But that's because I was wanting to finish it before I released it. Well it's now finished. maybe not to the degree I'd of liked bvut it's pretty close. The reason for this, is so I could enter it into the BUNG Gameboy game programming competition. Which hopefully, I have a chance of winning with this game.
  • What can I say that's changed, I've forgotten where I've left it last. There's now all the levels, 16 of them. There's 8 different baddies, and 4 types of Spaceship to build. The majority of the graphics have been redrawn by my brother. Viet Nguyen. With those new graphics I've also got a title screen. There's now music and sound fx, utilisiung the great Gameboy sound engine, GHX.
  • Thanks to Manfred Linzner of www.shinen.com for donating the music/sfx and player routines. I've changed the control method back to the classic spectrum version. Although you can change that back in the option screen.
  • There's a bunch of other spot effects added. Just play through the game and see.
