The Open Shop Channel is a platform where users can download and install homebrew apps for their Wii console. This channel serves as a revival project for an older application Homebrew Browser. It allows users to browse and download various applications and games that have been developed independently by the community, rather than officially by Nintendo. The channel is a great way for users to expand the capabilities of their Wii console and gain access to a wider range of content.

The Open Shop Channel was launched in March 2018 with the goal of reviving the Wii Shop Channel before its planned shut down. Initially, the project aimed to create a replacement for the Wii Shop Channel, but over time, the focus shifted towards creating a general open-source repository of apps. The channel utilizes the Homebrew Browser and OSCDL to access the content, as well as a public and open API that is planned to be released in the future.

An additional service called Club Spot was also planned, which would offer perks for using the Open Shop Channel. The original vision for the Open Shop Channel was ambitious, but the team continues to work on it with the hope of sharing results soon.
