The original CheatDevice by Edison Carter was one of the first homebrews ever to run on firmwares 2.01, 2.5 and 2.6. It had a big fan base and lots of functionality added over time. Sadly the Liberty City version wasn't updated and thus missing out on fixes after Vice City Stories' release etc.

CheatDevice Remastered is a remake of the original project written from ground up, it is one plugin for both Stories Games now and compatible with all versions (excluding the Japanese releases).

Aside from the author's own discoveries re-creating everything, lots of functions that were previously only available via UserCheats were added as default ones. Due to all these new options, categories were added as well as the menu adjusted to scroll instead of using pages.

Installation

Copy the whole cheatdevice_remastered folder to /PSP/PLUGINS/ directory.

Move cheatdevice_remastered.prx to /seplugins/ folder.

Edit ms0:/seplugins/GAME.TXT file (create it if not already there) and add the line

ms0:seplugins/cheatdevice_remastered.prx 1

(If you are using the native resolution patch by TheFloW, make sure to load the CheatDevice first by placing gta_native.prx line AFTER this one.)

In the VSH-menu enable 333Mhz in Game-mode for a smoother experience.

Note: There is a second "lite" plugin for casual cheaters which is missing advanced features like Editors, Freecam, UserScripts etc for slightly better performance.

User guide

How to use

When booting the game it will take a little longer to start as that's where all the magic happens.

Once in-game, just like with the original, the menu can be opened and closed by pressing L+Up.

And when saving your cheat preferences from the menu a config file will be created which automatically re-loads everything the next time you start the game.

Best Experience

Although this plugin is designed to work with all game versions, models and settings the following setup will grant you the best experience possible.

Vita OLED model + Adrenaline eCFW + GTA Remastered prx + GTANativeRes prx + High Memory Layout + 333mhz Game clock + 60 FPS Cheat.

For PPSSPP it is highly recommended to install the right analog stick camera control plugin as well (alternatively use: LCS & VCS).

UserScripts

You can create basic UserScripts saved in plain text which currently is the next best thing to the original UserCheats.

Everything from simply changing the weather to creating whole new missions is possible.

GTA CheatDevice Remastered plugin (for GTA VCS & LCS) (PSP Mav)

Compatability

All versions of the game (except the Japanese releases) are supported. As a bonus the German versions will be patched back uncut again.

Tested and working on selected PSP CFWs as well as on Adrenaline eCFW for Vita and PPSSPP v1.12.3.

PPSSPP is like 98% compatible right now. There might be more issues due to the emulation however.

This will not work with mobile versions.

Known issues

• Resetting water level in VCS keeps lower areas flooded (backup/reload needed).
• Health-/Damage-bar overflow in missions with Health/Indestructible cheats.
• Heavy player cheat breaks boat physics.
• Starting LCS multiplayer on PSP/Vita might fail if host starts match on same island.
• Soundbugs with 60FPS cheat on PPSSPP.
