vita-bootanim is a simple app that installs plugin allowing for custom animations usage as replacement for the splashscreen at console boot.
Features
- bootanimations plugin for enso.
User guide
How to setup:
- Convert gifs to rcf using the PC tools ImageMagick and gzip.
- Run "mkanim -help" to get the list of available commands.
- Max animation size: 108MiB.
- Put boot.rcf in ur0:tai/.
Notes:
- Faulty animations can be skipped by holding LTrigger.
- Try setting a lower priority and optimizing the animation.
- You can configure the boot animation in "settings > theme & background".
- Ultimately you must find the configuration that works best for you, in some case you might need to enable dual buffering to fix some artifacts caused by the frame being too heavy to decompress during vblank (dual buffering swaps between FBs).
