PITMAN is a conversion of the puzzle game Pitman for the Sharp MZ-700 homecomputer (also known as Catrap), originally published in a magazine by Yutaka Isokawa in 1985.

It is a simple yet addictive puzzle game where you can clear the game by removing all the gold nuggets on the screen.

User guide

On the stage selection screen:

  • Stage 1-9 (9 tiles) - Practice stages.
  • Stages 10 to 59 (50 tiles) - Stages based on the original version.
  • Stages 60-100 (41 tiles) - Newly added stages
  • Stages 101-200 (100 tiles) - Stages that can be edited (initial state is empty).

Varies objects in the stage:

  • Empty space - An empty space where Pitman, rocks and gold nuggets will fall through.
  • Wall - It cannot be pushed or pushed through.
  • Rock - You can push left and right. It will fall due to gravity.
  • Soil - You can pass through them. It becomes an empty space after you pass through it. Not subject to gravity.
  • Gold nugget - Collecting all of these will clear the stage.
  • Ladder - Pitman can move up and down.
