SonSonGBA is a SonSon - Arcade emulator for the GBA.

Installation

First unzip sonson.zip, and sonsonj.zip if you want, into the same folder as the emulator (filenames are taken from MAME 130).

Then run one of the .bat files to compile the roms and the emulator.

Make sure your flashing software allocates 8kByte/64kbit SRAM for SonSonGBA.

User guide

Advanced

EWRAM speed:

  • This changes the waitstate on EWRAM between 2 and 1.
  • This can probably damage your GBA and definitly uses more power, around 10% speedgain. Use at your own risk.

Link transfer and Pogoshell features are untested.

Controls

Menu:

Up/Down - Select game

A/B - Start selected game

In game:

L+R - Open menu

A - Choose

B or L+R - Cancel

L/R - Scroll screen (Unscale mode)

R+Select - Adjust background (Scaled mode)

R+Start - Speed mode (throttled/unthrottled/slomo mode)

Start+Select - Wake up from sleep mode

Known issues

It doesn't have sound support. You should still be able to enjoy the game though.
