Orbid was formerly called EatEm and is a reminiscent of the Flash game flOw, where you become an orb and have to devour smaller orbs to survive. It is created by Slasher (Team Duck) and Madsoul.

It was one of the contest entries for the NEO Spring Coding Compo 2008 (PSP Game).

User guide

Orbid is a unique game in which you're a small orb struggling to survive. You must eat the smaller (orange) orbs in order to gain points and survive in this dangerous world. All the while, you'll be avoiding larger orbs or else you'll become their dinner! Quick, fun, arcadish gameplay.

Orbid contains 5 distinct single player game modes:

  • Normal - Level based, each level will become increasingly harder.
  • Survival - Survival of the fittest. Survive for as long as possible before you become the enemies dinner.
  • Time - Beat the clock. Eat as many helpless orange orbs as possible. For each one you eat, timer will +1; for each set of orbs you eat, you'll recieve a 15 to 20+ random amount of time.
  • Mine Mode - Avoid the mines! Your goal is to eat the helpless small orb each round while avoiding the various scattered mines throughout the map.
  • Dodge Mode - Avoid the roaming orbs! Try to survive for as long as possible.

Orbid now contains a multiplayer mode for playing online against a friend. It uses netlib, so you must set up a netlib server in order to use it. Just change the ip.txt in the data folder to the IP of the server you want to connect to.

Developer stated that multiplayer mode is in an early beta stage and is not 100% guaranteed to work.
