Gorillas Advanced is a remake of the old QBasic classic, Gorillas, for the Game Boy Advance. It is written in C.
It was participated in the GBAX 2004 Coding Competition.
User guide
Gorillas Advanced puts two badly drawn gorillas and a pixel sized banana against each other.
On each side of the screen is a gorilla. Inbetween them are blue skyscrapers.
You must enter the angle and velocity of the banana, while taking in to count the wind factor, to hit the opposing gorilla.
There is a single and two player option in this game, and score is kept on wins.
- In the single player mode, you play against the CPU.
- In two player mode, you swap the GBA between two players.

Compatibility
If you want to play Gorillas Advanced on the GBA Hardware, a Flash Linker 2 Advanced or a XG Linker is recommended. It's basically a cable to the printer/USB of the PC to the GBA Link. Inside the GBA is a supplied GBA Cart that you can Flash (write/re-write) ROMs onto it. Great use for homebrew GBAers.
If you want to play Gorillas Advanced on an emulator, VisualBoy Advanced is recommended.
Changelog
V2.1
- Major bugfix from a problem with the AI in version 2.0. Also the sun now draws over the buildings.
V2.0
- Changed the playfield so it's wider. Now the gorillas are in random places.
- Also the two human player mode has been disabled since nobody really uses it.
- The mode splash screen will be modified to reflect the missing mode, soon.
- More features to come.
V1.9.5
- Added background music and changed the colors around. Timing is a little off due to the music, and may play faster. I think that's sorta a good thing.
V1.8.9
- Now in Player 1 VS CPU, the first player to shoot is now random between the two.
V1.8.7
- Gotta love how I make up version increments. Replaced Player1 VS CPU Screen with a new one from Robert.
V1.8.5
- Made the Gorillas bigger and a lil nicer looking.
V1.8
- More art from Robert M. arrived and added.
V1.7
- Fixed a mistake that made the CPU Player never be able to win.
V1.5
- Added banana-eating sun. When a banana thrown touches the sun, the banana stops and the turn is over.
V1.2
- A new, very nicely done, splash screen made by Robert M. added. Hopefully more art from Robert will come.
V1.1
- Saves Position Of Player1's Angle/Velocity after throwing. (Only in P1/CPU mode).
