Pilota (French) is a simple flight simulator made in Lua. The name is derived from Pilotwings on SNES.

It was entered into the XTreamContest: Summer Edition 2011 (3rd place).

User guide

The menu displays various options (mission types, airplane, weather, and maps), each option has specific parameters that you can adjust.

Available missions include:

  • Mission libre - Free mission.
  • Fuite - Evading missiles chasing after us.
  • Attaque - Shooting down airplanes with machine guns or missiles.
  • Fuite et attaque - Doing both at the same time.

Each planes has different performances (2 civilian and 2 military).

  • Cessna 172 Skyhawk.
  • Airbus A400M.
  • Rafale.
  • Bombardier CRJ 200.

Controls

Menu:

Up/Down - Select different menu options

Left/Right - Adjust parameters within the selected option

Cross - Confirm select and start the game

In game:

D-Pad - Steer the airplane

Cross/Square - Increase/Decrease throttle

R - shoot (in the attack mission)

(Don't forget to throttle up to catch up with slower airplanes, like the Cessna.)
