TIFF Brick-Out is an ASCII-based Arkanoid homebrew clone that relies on the Tiff Exploit to run.
It was participated in the PSP3D Ultimate Goodies And Cash Giveaway (2nd place).
User guide
Currently, it has 3 powerups that are randomly spat out, but the odds of you actually getting one spat out are about 1 and 10,000, therefore it also has some cheats add (only allowed once per game).
Powerups:
- Super Ball - Turns your ball invincible for a period of time. (Allowing the ball to go right through the bricks)
- Reverse - Inverts the D-Pad controls. (Left becomes right, and vice versa)
- Laser Gun - Mounts 1 laser right in the middle of your paddle for a period of time.
Controls
D-Pad - Paddle Movement
Cross - Fire laser
Start - Pause
Home - Exit (when paused)
Music Note - Screenshot
Compatibility
Developed for FW 2.0 - 2.8 (.bin).
Known issues
- Sound is a little delayed.
- Diagonal collision at the right angle causes a 'super ball' effect as collision diagonally is completely rotten... So it was removed, just use the angles to your advantage.
- Ball may appear in the paddle when actually dead, that is because of a split second thing where you can move the paddle at a certain moment causing the ball to be on the paddle, but not have any effect.
