Unlike your regular Pokemon game hacks and mod overhauls, Pokémon Fire Red Omega does not change any of the original game storyline. It does, however, improve the base game on almost all aspects and can be considered as a game upgrade rather than an overhaul. | Unlike your regular Pokemon game hacks and mod overhauls, Pokémon Fire Red Omega does not change any of the original game storyline. Unlike your regular Pokemon game hacks and mod overhauls, Pokémon Fire Red Omega does not change any of the original game storyline. It does, however, improve the base game on almost all aspects and can be considered as a game upgrade rather than an overhaul.
Some of the changes of the game include various starter Pokemon, new wild Pokemon, more trainer battles, new areas, improved difficulty, and so much more. All 386 Pokemon and 3rd generation Pokemon are available.

Compatibility
You need a GBA emulator such as VisualBoyAdvance or to play the rom hack.
If when you boot up the game you get an error about a 1M Circuit Board, stop and go to Options at the top > Emulator > Save Type. Choose Flash 128K, then close VBA and reopen it.
If you don't get the circuit board message again, you've done it right and can now actually save when you're playing.
Known issues
Some trainers will act as though you have already beaten them. I've fixed literally a few of these but fixing too many of them actually causes worse problems.
The person guarding the Cerulean Cave will now disappear when you go onto Route 4 but reappear when you get back into Cerulean City. This was done because of a glitch that would otherwise prevent you from getting into Cerulean Cave.
Collecting completely newly placed items ie the Water Stone in Route 6; these will still disappear even if your item bag is full. The exception is the Lucky Egg since that was edited from an item on that route originally.
