Just a quick and simple way to check if your SD card is potentially a fake.
A homebrew application developed with [[Lua Player Plus Vita]] for checking whether your SD card is potentially a fake.

==What the app does?==
The app works by checking the storage capacity of an SD card and comparing it with a known table of capacities for genuine SD cards. If the card falls within the expected range, it's considered genuine. For instance, a real 256GB SD card should show around 238GB after formatting. If it shows significantly more, like 249GB, the app flags it as fake.
The basics of the app are that it will look to see the capacity of the SD and compare it with a table of SD values to see if it falls within the peramiters of a genuine SD. For example a genuine 256gb SD card should register as no more than 238gb after formatting.. however, many fake cards will show as 249gb, so the app will flag this as fake.

==How accurare is this?==
In general, this method is pretty accurate because most fake SD cards have capacities far from genuine ones. However, if fake card makers start using more accurate capacities, this method might become less reliable.
Most fake SD cards on the market are easy to spot as the reported capacity is nowhere near a genuine cards value so this method is usually quite acceptable. HOWEVER.! if a fake card manufacturer starts using more accurate values then this method would be pointless but i highly doubt that will likely happen and time soon.

A homebrew application developed with Lua Player Plus Vita for checking whether your SD card is potentially a fake.

In general, this method is pretty accurate because most fake SD cards have capacities far from genuine ones. However, if fake card makers start using more accurate capacities, this method might become less reliable.
