User guide

At set dates, Square-Enix released "codes" in the form of puzzle solutions to unlock additional content in the game. Once the main site was taken down, however, that knowledge was lost, or so people though.

The team were able to recover that information and have included it in this patch in the form of attached images within a strategy guide PDF for your enjoyment. Be warned much of this content is considerably more difficult than any of the missions in the main story.

To "unlock" each slate, touch the screen at the specified locations in the order shown in the images. The ten slates in order are:

  • Iron Slate.
  • Crimson Slate.
  • Chalk Slate.
  • Frost Slate.
  • Earth Slate.
  • Mountain Peak Slate.
  • Mythril Slate.
  • Burning Slate.
  • Dark Slate.
  • Frozen Tear Slate.

Known issues

Text appears on-screen at a constant letter-by-letter rate during some story segments but depending on length of the text on the page, will start displaying faster near the end.

Due to name length limitations in-game, some character names have been shortened as a compromise. If you have never played the Japanese version anyway, maybe this isn't so important.

Changelog

Version 1.07 2014/10/05

  • Updates to item descriptions and tutorial.

Version 1.06 2014/09/29

Version 1.05 2014/09/23

  • Fixed the ending screen issue (thanks to retrogamefan).
  • Fixed a few ability descriptions and menu descriptions as well as a minor synth issue with a couple weapons (Mjolnir and Clioms Solais).
  • Fixed a small issue with the name entry screen and the lowercase “u”.
